REH Employees Achieve Master’s Level

Ramey-Estep Homes improved its position as a child-care leader in Kentucky as six of their current staff received master’s level certificates in Mental Health Counseling.  A majority of these individuals are direct-care staff who focus on hands-on time with the youth.  This continued education ensures their experience and knowledge base in providing ultimate care.

Placement of these individuals in positions that directly relate to the youth will be an advantage to each child, Ramey-Estep Homes, and the community.
Staff receiving their degrees on Friday, August 18th were Ginny Anderson, Director of Community Based Services; Jake Anderson, Independent Living Coordinator; Todd Collier, Treatment Coordinator; Lauren Rose, Case Manager; Amy Shaffer, Quality Assurance Coordinator; and Melissa Spurlock, Treatment Coordinator.

Each completed a two-year program at Ashland Community and Technical College sponsored by Lindsey Wilson College, whose main campus is in Columbia, Kentucky.  These staff achieved the degree of Master of Education, Counseling and Human Development with specialization offered in Mental Health Counseling.  The school’s graduate program is one of 17 programs in the country accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) specifically in mental health counseling.
